The perfect place to start. The Jones Bassoon Reed is intended for beginners for use during the first few years of playing.
This reed is designed for the basic range of the instrument, allowing each player to become easily acquainted with the bassoon.

Each reed is individually tested and adjusted by hand.

The Artist Reed (purple thread) makes an excellent option for all intermediate and advanced players.

We would suggest all first year players start with Medium Soft or Medium reeds. After the embouchure is more developed, consider a Medium Hard strength or our Artist Series reeds if playing for more than 1 year.
